Week 46

Whoa! Where has time gone?! I feel like I just barely left!
Things in Hattiesburg are great! We are having 2 baptisms this week and hopefully more within the month! Miracles are happening! Our baptisms are LaTesha and Kaydan! They are the coolest, a mother and son! They have come to church every week since I have been here and have seen so many changes in their lives. LaTesha told us yesterday that her cousin commented on how happier she seems and Latesha said it's because I have been going to church and taking lessons from sister missionaries, you should meet them! Haha look at her being a little missionary! She's the coolest!!

On Tuesday for PDay we went to the zoo! It was so much fun! It was raining the whole time though so we couldn't see some of the animals, but they have this hill that you can slide down and so it was so much fun becuase it was wet so we went a lot faster!

On Saturday we got a call from some people in our branch saying that they were going to Camp Shelby which is the Air Force base here. We got to go and give the sacrament to about 15 people! It was such a spiritual experience. Something that I will never forget. Soemthing that was truly cool was that there were 5 nonmembers there- all of which came up to us after and thanked us and asked how they could learn more! seriously incredible!!

Things are going great here!! We have zone conference this week and I am really looking forward to that! I love it because it's always such a spiritual boost! And helps you finish the transfer off strong!

Well I love y'all! Remember to pray and study the scriptures. And don't be afraid to ask questions. The Lord hears your prayers and he will answer you! That is something that I know is true! No matte what the Lord will take care of you. He has a path for you that you might not always understand but it's always what's best! Have faith and trust in the Lord!
Have a blessed week! Stay safe and happy!

Much love,

Week 45

Hey y'all!

I hope y'alls week was as great as mine was!
We have 2 people getting baptized on July 2nd! LaTesha and her son Kaden! We are so pumped for them! We have had some of the best lessons with them and we had 5 investigators come to church!! It was kind of a big deal! We are so happy with the progress that is happening in our zone!

We also had exchanges on Friday! It was great! I sure do love my STLs! I was able to go with Sister John. I love that girl! We are literally the same person. It was kind of crazy to figure out everything. But she is amazing and a great leader! We were able to work in the Purvis ward for a while.  -Side story we got pizza that night from a member but we were out and about so we just had them drop it off at the church and they put it up high so ants wouldn't get in it. Well we decided to sit on the sidewalk and eat and within like 5 minutes there were ants flocking to us. It was crazy. So i'm glad that the member put it up high. Lessons learned in the south.. haha
So that night after exchanges we went to drive home and there was this insane storm! Like you couldn't see 5 feet in front of you! I'll attach a video for y'all!

We also had interviews this week. I am so grateful for President Olson, he is such an inspired man. We had a good talk! He is so funny too.

So crazy story of the week! The zone leaders found squirrels in the church a few days ago and chased them and got them out. Thought they got them all. Well on Sunday there was a very unfriendly smell in the church building. We were talking after church to some members and one lifted up the chair in the foyer and there was a dead squirrel! It was so gross and also funny... but that;s my story for the week!!

I hope y'all have a blessed week!
Remember that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true and has been restored to this earth. And God answers our prayers. They may not be in the way that we think, but he does. And he loves us. Every single one of us. No matter what. A really great quote I read this weeks says "Every day your life’s course is determined by decisions you make, decisions others make, and sometimes by unexpected events. What matters is what you do or don’t do to chart a course that leads you back to God. When your response to life’s opportunities and challenges is faith and trust in His plan, you’ll receive the strength you need to succeed." I challenge y'all to keep this in mind this week!!

Love always,
Sister DeCamp

Week 44

Hey y'all!
I have been moved to Mississippi finally! And it's the best! I am LOVING it here! I am in the YSA branch and it covers the entire stake! We also have USM and it's awesome. I forgot how much people love college football...then I saw the stadium haha.  It's pretty big!
My companion is Sister Wilson and she is Awesome! She is from Jamaica! We are always laughing and always lost. haha I have to drive and so I have no idea where I am going and she's never driven and didn't pay uch attention to where she was soo its always an adventure! But I am starting to figure things out! its an adventure for sure!

This week We taught a lesson on the word of wisdom And a few days later we went back and she told us that she had given up smoking and coffee. She knows it's not good and knows that what we tell is true because she has been praying. She Is set for a baptism at the end of the month! She is doing great!

I know that the Lord gives us council to keep us safe and healthy. The church is true!
Remember to read the scriptures and say your prayers!

Much love,
Sister DeCamp
