Week 65

Hey everyone!

This week was a great week! We have been busy busy and loving every minute of it! Sister Doxey loves to tract so we have been doing a lot of that! And we have been meeting a lot of really cool people that way too!

We are teaching Rochelle and the Brown family still! And things seem to be going great for them! They are all planning on being baptized in December! So keep them in your prayers! They are some amazing people! We are also still teaching a lady named Donna- I don't know if I mentioned last week about how she was working on her prayers, but she gets so excited every time she prays. It reminds me every time how special it that we can say prayers and have the communication with our father in heaven! We are so loved by him!

So lately we have been going over to the Canterberry's house- a sure cool family in our ward- to read from the Book of Mormon with them. We are doing the 21 day challenge with them. Well last night Sister Canterberry pulled us aside after we read and she told us how grateful she was that we chose that family to read with them because she has already started to see how much happier they have been. And how they get excited to read as a family!
Guys the Book of Mormon is so cool!!!!
It seriously changes lives. Even those who are already members. So READ THE BOOK!!!!! Really test it out. Give it a try.. do it!!!!

I'm am also so excited for this week! I get to see the Williams!! And talk to Bill and Kathy!! AND meet one of Sister Doxey's recent converts! It will be a great time! I am looking forward to this week.

Also transfers are next week so stay tuned to see if I stay of if I go!! (Pray I stay)

Much love!! Make good choices!!

Week 64

Hey everyone!
This week seemed to FLY by! It was crazy! It was a good week full of learning though!

On Tuesday we had Zone Conference, it was a good reminder about the Book of Mormon. There was also some pretty good quotes. "eyes up do the work" and "Let God fight your battles"
All in all it was a good conference! It helped me and Sis. Doxey out a lot.

On Wednesday and Thursday we had exchanges. I freakin love Sister Giles! That girl is too funny and a way good missionary!

We had a super cool experience with fasting and praying this week! We have a lot going on but not a lot happening here and we wanted to change that. So we prayed to know what to do with the investigators we had and who to focus on. Some of our "solid" investigators actually told us that they wanted to slow down, another one was able to recieve personal revelation and things started to click in her head and so she is focusing on certain things to work on to improve. But the coolest thing is that there was a family who we taught last week and hadn't had contact with them this week, and they showed up to church! And LOVED it! and as a family are working on getting better and looking for a baptism date and praying about it! It was really cool to see how God was able to show us where our focus needs to be. (I actually don't know if that made any sense now but just know God answered our prayers)

Saturday was Sister Doxey's birthday and she wanted to tract for it... so that's exactly what we did.. we spent about 5 hours that day tracting.. She had a good time and we actually met a really cool lady out of it!

It was a good week! Remember that God does answer our prayers. Sometimes we don't take the time to listen though.. So take a minute after you pray to be still and listen.
As always a friendly reminder- Read the Book of Mormon! It's amazing and it's changed my life so I know it will change anyone's!!

Love you all!!

Week 51

Hey y'all!
Sumrall Mississippi is so cool! It's not very big but it's got a lot going on! We are teaching a guy named Terry who is planning on getting baptized at the end of the month as well as a lady named Rhonda! They are really cool!

We do service at an old folks home and while we were there a lady came and talked to us and told us to come pick fruit in her backyard. So we went and oh my goodness! She had VINES of grapes and muscadines ! They are the best fruits I think I have ever eaten! And the lady was really nice and asked us about our missions!

This week we went out in a trio with Sister John to help work her area since Sister Larsen has been pretty sick and we were out tracting and we got chased by a dog! So obviously we ran and we were on a porch and the dog came and cornered us( keep in mind this dog looked possessed!) and so being the prepared missionary that I am, I had some mace with me- And I sprayed the dog! And it ran away.. also there was a little girl in the doorway who was just as scared as us but had a door to hide behind, we tried to tell the little girl that it was dog repelant.. thats kind of hard to explain... anyway so we started walking down the road again and the dog came back!! So I help it up and the dog ran away... but we still ended up running back to our car to get away from the creepy thing! There was also the YSA conference this weekend- well it was held at our church and we had to run by there well we might have stopped by the kitchen and found a TON of leftovers... And had a REALLY delightful dinner (:

Yesterday we were out tracting and trying potentials and we were in the car because we got a phone call and then all of the sudden a lady we know came flying up and told us that we needed to leave because there was a HUGE seen right on the other side of where we were parked and told us that guns were pulled and that we needed to get out so we didn't get shot.. ha

This week was really busy and adventurous! Stay tuned to hear what goes down next week!!
Love y'all! Count your blessings! (: You have more than you think!

Week 42

Hey y'all!
This week was a good one! Also a crazy one! Monday night our ZLs called us and told us that we needed to be in Jackson Mississippi at 9:30 in the morning on Thursday. That's like a 5 1/2 hour drive.. if we miss traffic!  But it was for a new car. So well worth it right? We ended up starting our drive Wednesday night and stayed over with the STLs, Sister Latimer and Sister Marchant, and then continued our journey at 6 in the morning to make it on time.. We were still a little late, but not by too much! And we got a brand new Rav4! It's awesome! And when it rains here we can still make it in people's driveways with it! It's incredible!

We also went to Queen City's graduation this week- a perfect place to talk to people and be seen. It was kind of crazy to  me to see only 70ish chairs instead of 300.  We ended up talking to quite a few people and made quite a few contacts but nobody was super interested. We also went to the cemeteries yesterday to try and talk to people about family history. We were out for a litle over 2 hours, and only met 2 people. Both of whom were not interested but were veterans so it was good to talk to them.

I am so grateful for all of those who have fought for our country and those who are still fighting. As I was thinking about Memorial Day yesterday, I thought of Captain Moroni and he rent his coat and wrote the Title of Liberty on it. He was not afraid to fight for his family, religion, peace, or God.  He was willing to give the ultimate sacrifice if need be, just like those who have fought for our freedom in recent days.

I hope y'all have a great week. Stay tuned to see where Sister DeCamp will go next week.  (So if you have a letter send it to the mission office)

Much love,
Sister DeCamp

Week 40

Hey y'all!
It was good to talk to the fam yesterday! I hope everyone is doing great!
This week we tracted a lot and had a really fun time doing so. We met a lot of potentials! So that is good! Lots of people to follow up with! Which will hopefully build our teaching pool! Yay!

Some exciting news! Yesterday we got a new bishop! It will be so so good for the area and the ward! We are hoping to start working with him more!

This week we also got called by some of the girls in our ward going to Prom saying they needed help because their dress ripped. Luckily Sister DeCamp saved the day! safety pins are pretty great!

Sorry this email is short! But We have to go up to Texarkana! It was Elder Bledsoe's birthday yesterday! The coolest district leader ever! So we are fixin to go party it up with him! I love y'all!

Love,
Sister DeCamp

Week 39

Hello!
"How long does it take you to pee?" The quote is from DM this week! We are asked to drink 60 oz. of water every morning before 10am and then continue throughout the day. Which is great because it keeps you very hydrated but is not fun when you have to sit in meetings or while tracting. And the quote was said in DM. And it was hilarious.

This week was a great week though! We did a lot of tracting and it is paying off! We are now teaching a girl named Ashley who is planning on getting baptized in June! So prayers for her! She is the coolest though! And we see her making a lot of changes and progress in just a week! It's pretty amazing what the spirit and the power of the Book of Mormon can do!

We had interviews with President this week and they were really good! While Sister Hope was in her interview Sis. Olson and I went for a walk and talked a lot. It was really cool. I love those people! They can always make you feel the spirit so strongly and can always feel their love for you when they talk to you. It's pretty neat.

It was a beautiful week so we also got snocones! I love snocones! And we have just had a really good and busy week!

I hope y'all have a blessed week and look for the tender mercies of the Lord. They are everywhere! Smile and be happy !!

Also Be pumped to talk to me on Sunday. I'm pretty cool!

Love,
Sister DeCamp

Week 38

This week was pretty dandy!
We Went tracting a lot trying to find new people to teach as well as trying to visit a lot of less actives and help our ward out!

This week the weather has been CRAZY!! We have had so many storms and warnings and the best part is that we were out of miles so  we were either on foot or on bike! That always keeps things interesting and exciting.!

Today is Sister Hope's birthday so we don't have much time to write because we are going to play in Texarkana with our District. I love y'all!
Have a blessed week! Let me know if there are any tender mercies or miracles this week!

Love,
Sister DeCamp
